The team at Barkers Veterinary Clinic are always happy to give you help and advice about your pets.  We provide a full range of medical and surgical facilities for the diagnosis and treatment of dogs, cats and other small pets.

All of the veterinarians and nursing staff regularly attend seminars, conferences and other educational programs to stay up to date with current procedures and therapies.

Consultations

Consultations with a veterinarian are scheduled every 15 minutes, but longer appointments for complex problems can also be arranged. Read More.

We perform many different operations, including desexing, exploratory surgery, lump and tumour removals, wound stitch-ups and caesarians. Read More.

Hospital Care

Your pet may need to stay in hospital while it recovers from a surgery or an illness.  Our hospital facilities include fresh bedding and are warmed with heating pads. Read More.

Dentistry

Barkers Veterinary Clinic believes that clean teeth and healthy gums leads to a longer and happier life for your pet, and are pro-active in helping you keep your pet’s mouth healthy. Read More.

Puppy Pre-School

Your puppy’s first few months are very important, and we can help guide you on all matters relating to their health, behaviour and socialization. Read More.

Pathology

Barkers Veterinary Clinic are able to run blood tests on-site and have results within 20 minutes. Read More.

Microchipping

Microchipping is the best form of identifying lost or stolen pets.  The microchip is implanted under the skin between the shoulder blades. Read More.

Grooming

Geoff Gillies has been grooming and showing dogs for 30 years, and has been at Barkers Veterinary Clinic for 10 years. He is available once weekly for clipping and bathing, and is very gentle and patient with stubborn and nervous dogs. Read More.

Pharmacy

Many of the drugs we provide have legal restrictions on their use, and may only be dispensed under certain conditions.  If you have any concerns about medicating your pet at home, please notify us, as we might be able to prescribe the medication in a different format. Read More.
